Last on, first off
Put your jewellery on after perfume, lotion and hairspray — and take it off before you wash or sleep.
Keep it dry
Avoid showers, swimming pools and the gym. Moisture and chlorine are plating enemies.
Store it separately
Keep each piece in its pouch or a lined box so they never scratch one another.
Do
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.
- Store in the pouch or box it arrived in.
- Remove before sleeping, bathing or exercising.
- Apply cosmetics and fragrance before putting it on.
Don't
- Expose to water, sweat, perfume or chemicals.
- Use toothpaste, alcohol or harsh cleaners.
- Toss loose into a bag or drawer with other pieces.
- Scrub or soak — plating is thin by nature.
A gentle at-home clean
- Dampen a soft cloth with a drop of mild soap and lukewarm water.
- Wipe the surface gently — never rub, and never submerge.
- Pat completely dry with a second clean, dry cloth.
- Let it air out for a minute before returning it to its pouch.
